Easter Sunday

It was our first Sunday here in the Philippines... We contemplated on which church to go to, the church just right here by the hotel or the church that we will be attending when we move into our house! We decided to attend the church that we will be going to when we move into our house, so that we could get to know the people! Landon looked it up on the church website what time the meetings are and it said 10:30.. Well when we got there we found out that it was the time for sacrament. All of the other meetings were first and they started at 8:30! So this coming Sunday we will remember that! Everyone was of course very welcoming in the ward we stayed after church talking to people for probably a good half hour! At church they speak half english and half ilongo just depeding on the speaker and who is conducting.. So it was kind of hard sitting through a sacrament meeting that was in another language!! I guess we will have to get used to it??

After we went to church we came back to the hotel and they were having an easter egg hunt and swimming for all of the kids! We thought it would be fun for Payson to have a little bit of an easter egg hunt! We went and swam before the hunt and while we were swimming we spotted a big egg and told each other that was the one we were going to get for Payson, but some kids started early so we didnt get it!:( But instead we found 2 or 3 small eggs.. We weren't very good easter egg hunters! All of the workers here love Payson so they are the ones that helped us find the eggs that we did find! The only downside to this hunt is the eggs were empty!! We went and turned in our eggs thinking Payson would get candy or a prize out of it, but he didn't get anything so we kept the eggs for a toy for him instead! Its definately not the same here for Easter! But he had fun playing with the eggs and that is all that matters!! Overall it was a good day and we all had fun!!:)

  1. I have been living in Sweden now for 10 months, and still hardly understand anything in church!! I totally know how you feel, good luck! Usually someone translates during sacrament though, thank goodness!! Good luck with your adventure of living in a new country, i know how you feel haha!
